The "Panel Bed" is
probably our most popular wall bed. People love the way the bed just
pulls down into the room. There are no doors to open (or to be in the
way). Unlike our other three types of wall beds, there is no separate
bed hardware mechanism.

The wooden cabinet face pivots around
a sturdy metal peg to become the bed frame. A pair of gas-loaded struts
are used to counter balance the weight of the bed. These can be seen
in the pictures of the bed on the open position. We make these cabinets
in a traditional Arts and Crafts style, and we offer them in seven
different hardwoods and a variety of stains.

Rooms vary greatly in size and arrangement.
To get a wall bed to look and work right, it is often necessary to
include the correct side cabinets. With both our Panel Beds and our
Murphy beds, we offer a wide range of wall units that are designed
to suit just about any need. And we do custom work to fill in where
our standard cabinets don ’t quite fit or serve.

With the variety of woods and finishes that we offer,
you can get a wall system built around a Panel bed cabinet to match
or work well in just about any decor. The wall space above the headboard
lends itself nicely to a wall mirror, which we can also supply.

A unique variation of a panel bed is what we call the
"side bed". In this arrangement, the bed folds down on its
side instead of head to foot. In rooms with low ceilings or slanted roof,
this is the way to go. It also works well with twin size beds where the
wall space above the bed can be used for bookcases.

The bed cabinet breaks down into smaller
components for easy access into small spaces. If you have a special
situation or need, or just want additional information, give us a call.
