Hardwood Artisans uses a specially formulated danish oil finish. This finish brings out the wood’s natural beauty. It is also extremely durable. Danish oil finishes are not used by most commercial manufacturers because:

• Oil finishes do not disguise poor quality wood.

• Oil finishes are time-consuming and more costly to apply.

At Hardwood Artisans, our finishing process starts with flooding the surfaces of the furniture piece with the finishing oil. We keep the wood wet with danish oil so that it penetrates into and between the cells of the wood. Then, the piece is wiped dry and buffed by hand using old-fashioned elbow grease. This process is repeated the next day. Finally, the oil finish continues to harden for the next two weeks or so.

Your hand-rubbed finish will actually improve with age. If you choose, you may treat the furniture to enhance the depth of the finish and fix any minor scratches.
