Armoires

In Germany and much of Europe, cabinets in kitchens and bathrooms are not mounted to the walls. People own their storage cabinets and they take them when they move. These are called schranks and are prized possessions, often given as wedding or anniversary gifts. Moveable furniture also gives you more flexibility with interior decorating.

Many houses and apartments lack adequate hanging and storage space. In Washington DC and the surrounding area, there are a lot of very nice neighborhoods where the older style interior architecture just begs for an armoire. Hardwood Artisans has some very attractive and functional solutions.

We make our Armoires in several styles and sizes. We are showing here two Arts and Crafts pieces, two more traditional pieces, and a Shaker armoire. We can craft one of these large attractive pieces to fit your space, match your style, and suit your needs.

Some of our armoires are set up for long hanging space; some have more drawers and a shorter hanging space for shirts and blouses. Adjustable shelves are a good and useful option where the need is to store bulky items like sweaters, jeans, or towels and linens.

Don’t just think in terms of bedrooms when looking at our armoires. One of these pieces could really dress up your entryway, a hall, or even a kitchen or large bathroom. If you need storage space, a Hardwood Artisans armoire might be just the ticket.
